BRETT CHAN AND HITZ INTERNATIONAL WINNERS ON KUNG FU

  Hitz International are winners! A huge congratulations to the Hits team for winning the Leo Award for Best Stunt Coordination in the Drama Category for Their work on Kung Fu. Brett Chan was lead coordinator and Andrew Chin also say work as a Coordinator.

  Hits Members Brett Chan and Andrew Chin were both nominated in the recent UBCP and ACTRA Awards for Kung fu. Both the Pilots episode and Rage were given the nod. BRETT A MULTIPLE AWARD WINNER

  For those of you that missed it – Brett Chan received praise at the EMMY’s. Nominated for Best Stunt Coordination for ‘WARRIOR’ in 2020. Previously he has been nominated at the Taurus World Stunt Awards. He was Nominated and Won for “PUSH” as Specialty Stunt - Stunt Coordination in 2009. Brett was also Nominated and Won for “HOTROD” for Hardest Hit - Stunt Coordination 2007. As Brett continues to receive praise - we’ll keep you updated right here.

WEDNESDAY - BRETT CHAN SET AS 2ND UNIT DIRECTOR

  The new TV series is directed by Tim burton and also features many Hitz International members in various roles. Brett Chan is in as 2nd unit director/stunt coordinator with Jason Ng as Assistant Stunt Coordinators. Also, Jason Li and Marina Yordanova take roles as performers Netflix reported the project as being ordered back in November, though no network or streamer was attached at that time. Netflix has given the coming-of-age series an 8 episode order. Based on the character originally created by Charles Addams, “Wednesday” is a young adult TV series described as a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. She attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore. Great work one and all.

BRETT CHAN STUNT COORDINATOR ON HALO

The upcoming TV series Halo features multiple Hitz members. Halo has Brett Chan assuming the role of Stunt Coordinator, with Johnny Yang and Jason Ng as Assistant Stunt Coordinators. Eva Yang get into the action as Department Coordinators and the show also features - Jason Li and Marina Yordanovaas performers. After years in delays, the Halo TV series is moving forward. Master Chief is headed to Hollywood with a TV series on Paramount+. Steven Spielberg's Amblin Television is producing. There's not much we know for sure about the content of the show, but there are going to be Spartans, with Master Chief taking his proper place as a central character. Cortana's along for the ride. And if we had to bet on it: There's probably going to be a Halo ring, too. We still don't know too much about the plot, though we do know the Chief and Cortana are core to the series. Congratulations to all Hitz Members!

  One of the world’s foremost stunt coordinators and fight choreographers and 2nd Unit directors, Brett’s incredible creativity and strong work ethic and 40 years in Martial arts have taken him to the very top of his field. Recent international credits include 2nd Unit directing the action sequences and fight choreography and Emmy Nominated for the hit HBO series “Warrior”, the epic period battle scenes for Netflix’s “Marco Polo” and the Marvel martial arts extravaganza “Iron Fist”, Kung Fu (Pilot). In his hometown of Vancouver, Brett’s many credits include stunt coordinating the 80s-style actioner “Skyscraper” starring The Rock and “Snow Piercer”, an upcoming sci-fi thriller series for TBS. 

BRETT CHAN ON NEW KUNG FU

  Brett Chan takes the lead as Stunt Coordinator for the new series. Kung Fu is an upcoming American martial arts action-adventure series that is set to debut on The CW in the 2020–21 television season. This version is a modern-day adaptation of the original version of Kung Fu and the third television series after Kung Fu: The Legend Continues, and as with the aforementioned programs, it is being produced by Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Christina M. Kim (the creator of the updated version), Ed Spielman (the creator of the original series), Greg Berlanti, Hanelle Culpepper, Martin Gero, and Sarah Schechter. Set in the present day, the series follows a young Chinese-American woman whose personal issues forced her to leave college and make a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. Upon her return to America, she starts using her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community when her hometown of San Francisco is plagued by ongoing...

WARRIOR USES CHAN AND MUTIPLE OTHER HITZ MEMBERS

  Warrior season1 and 2 see Brett Chan leading the charge as 2nd Unit Director/Stunt Coordinator and Fight Coordinator. Also, we find Johnny Yang, Richard Bradshaw as Stunt Coodinators and Roman Jancovick as Assistant Stunt Coordinator. Hits Rounds things out with Jason Day as a Stunt Actor. Warrior is an American action-drama television series that premiered on April 5, 2019, on Cinemax. It is based on an original concept and treatment by Bruce Lee, and is executive-produced by his daughter, Shannon Lee, and Justin Lin. In April 2019, Cinemax renewed the series for a second season which premiered on October 2, 2020.

BRETT CHAN IS BACK ON SNOW PERCER SEASON 2

  Brett Chan will return to Snow Piercer for the second season for 5 episodes as a Stunt Co-ordinator. Wilford (Sean Bean), the mysterious billionaire whose company built the trains, is onboard and wants to gain back control of Snowpiercer. Season 2 will focus on this newfound power struggle as passengers need to decide whether to join Wilford or to support the uprising led by Daveed Diggs' Andre Layton.

BRETT CHAN ON WARRIOR

  Brett Chan is off to work in South Africa for the new series “Warrior”. Warrior is based on a script by Bruce Lee who had spent many years working on Warrior, but it was never published or produced. Years after the Enter The Dragon actor’s sudden 1973 death at age 32, his daughter found a large collection of handwritten notes that Bruce wrote himself on the concept for the series that became the inspiration for the show. The series will see Justin Lin as executive produce, Shannon Lee (Bruce Lee’s daughter) as executive producer and Johnathan Tropper as show runner. Warrior is described as a gritty, action-packed crime drama set during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the second half of the 19th century. The series follows Ah Sahm, a martial arts prodigy who immigrates from China to San Francisco under mysterious circumstances, and becomes a hatchet man for one of Chinatown’s most powerful tongs (Chinese organized crime family).

  The first teasers for the show promise plenty of action and adventure that stays true to the spirit of the original comic, whose character was very inspired by the martial arts movie boom of the early 1970s. With action director Brett Chan and his Hitz International team working on the show’s fight and stunt action we can expect some very impressive action. Brett and his team have been responsible for the fights on both seasons of Marco Polo,and Outcast with Nicholas Cage, and know how to deliver a very cool mix of Eastern and Western flavoured action.

  Plenty of our members of the crew can be found on Shazam! Brett Chan finds himself as Canadian Prep Stunt Coordinator. Chan Griffin as fight coordinator with Anthony Rinna on the core team. We round things out with Jason Day and Andrew Chin acting as performers. We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson's (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word--SHAZAM!--this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. BRETT CHAN AND ANDREW CHIN WIN FOR DARC - STUNT CLIP

  Congratulations go out to Brett Chan and Andrew Chin who the Best Stunt Award at the UBCP/ACTRA Awards for the film DARC. You can check the stunt here at 1:30. It’s the stunt with the car door hitting a guy and then the car slides into a 90 to hit another guy. Great stuff.

BRETT CHAN - STUNT COORDINATOR ON SKYSCRAPER AND GUTENBERG

  While the plot of this 2018 film is being held under wraps we are pleased to say that Hitz International’s Brett Chan will be working as Canadian Stunt Coordinator on “Skyscraper”. Brett will be working with the likes of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Neve Campbell on what has been described as a hostage-action thriller set in China. Also, Brett finds himself as Stunt Coordinator on “Gutenberg”. Seems like there’s no slowing Brett down as we head to 2018.
